ABOUT
THE ASSOCIATION
The
international association of colour was founded in 1984 by Theo Gimbel as a
independent lead body and umbrella group which seeks to promote the global
awareness of colour in all its forms. IAC is non profit making and is
financially dependant on the annual subscription of its members. IAC promotes
and supports its members, and they are involved in a diverse colour world
which include colour therapists, spiritual and energy healers, artists,
designers, psychotherapists, and holistic medical practitioners.
COLOUR
THERAPY
Light
and Colour are intimately linked with our well being. The mind and body
respond to the vibrational energies of colours in many ways. The goal of Colour
Therapy is to promote balance in the subtle anatomy which underpins the
Psychological and physical natures. All the different approaches of using
colour represent a gentle and relaxing way to health promotion. There are a
number of approaches that colour practitioners use such as
Coloured
Crystals, use of coloured silks, use of coloured lights, use of colours in art
theses are a few of the many ways to use colour. Often other holistic
modalites are combined with colour such as
aromatherapy, reflexology, accupunture and crystals. Art, fashion, design,
dance, and even gardening involve the aesthetic use of colour. On the medical
side, photherapy , has led to several advances in treatment in recent years,
especially since the advent of the laser and the LED. Notable medical uses
include neonatal jaundice, dyslexia, cancer and migrane.
COLORAMA
Increasingly seen as an
important journal for all aspects of light, colour and healing.
